Wagner Trindade is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. For the last three years he has been working as Head of Instrumental Studies at Saint Lucia School of Music (Saint Lucia, West Indies), where he also have gained valuable experience coordinating performance opportunities at all levels across the country; liaising with heads of other departments when necessary; overseeing the weekly program and rehearsals of several ensembles (including Folk Ensemble, Jazz Big Band and other large ensembles); performing and coordinating external concert requests, including those made by the partnership with the embassies; teaching a number of academic lessons each week including: film music, composition, music and technology, music theory, guitar, electric bass, aural skills, and also managing the team of part time teachers. At Saint Lucia School of Music, his main focus was to bring value to the School and to the lives of the students, paying close attention to their individualities and seeing their potential.


He has completed his Master’s Degree in Music with emphasis on Composition/Film Scoring on 2011 at Western Oregon University. At WOU, he studied film scoring with Dr. Kevin Walczyk and composition with Dr. Keller Coker.  After graduating he started working at WOU as an Adjunct Music Instructor and guest lecturer at Mel Brown Jazz Camp.


His performance experience includes shows in the United States, Brazil and Saint Lucia with artists such as: Lizz Wright, Allen Toussaint, Nancy King, Lynn Anderson, Ronald “Boo” Hinkson (Saint Lucia), Arturo Tappin (Barbados), Dennis Rollins (UK), Miguel Siso (Venezuela), Carlos “Nene” Quintero (Venezuela), Lorena Guillén, Alejandro Rutty (Argentina), Cláudio Nucci  (Brazil), Armando Marçal (Brazil) to name a few.


He attended the Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro State), where he received his Bachelors Degree in music with a specialization in arrangement for Brazilian Popular Music. 


He is an active musician as well as a collaborative composer – his own group called “Dialeto Brasileiro”, which he formed with Cassio Vianna (piano) and Claudio Felix (drums), won the Brazilian National prize as Best Instrumental group from Cascavel Jazz Festival, and they have a CD entitled “No Caminho”.


In March 2016, Wagner relocated from Saint Lucia to California, where he lives with his beloved wife Marie Trindade.
